Jason Hnatiw - Head Professional
Jason started in the golf business working at the Lloydminster Golf & Country Club at age 15. For 4 seasons, he worked in the backshop, grounds department, and the proshop. After high school he went to Grant MacEwan College, where he earned a Professional Golf Management diploma. In 2000, Jason was hired at the Edmonton Country Club. He earned his paying ability test that same year and stayed there as an Assistant Professional until I was hired at the Sturgeon Valley Golf Club as the Head Professional in 2011. He has experience teaching individual and group golf lessons to all skill levels. He focuses on the fundamentals of the golf swing and uses them to cure almost any problem.
Andy Neilsen - Associate Professional
Andy spent his early years in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. At the age of 16 he moved to St. Albert and became a member of the Sturgeon Valley Golf Club. Golf quickly became Andy's passion. With influence from past Golf Professionals at Sturgeon Valley he then enrolled in the Professional Golf Management program at Grant MacEwan College. Andy first started work in the golf business at the Windermere Golf and Country Club and then moved forward to the Sturgeon Valley Golf Club. Andy is entering his 7th year at the Sturgeon Valley Golf club and has been a C.P.G.A Professional for six years. His passion is teaching and educating people about his passion "golf".
Tyler Willner - Assistant Professional
Tyler grew up in Humboldt, SK and started playing golf at the age of 9. At the age of 16 his family decided on a change of scenery which brought them to Grande Prairie, AB, where he got his first job in the golf industry. He started at a course called Bear Creek Golf club. He then moved on to work at Barrhead Golf Club, Cougar Creek Golf Resort, The Fairmont Banff Springs and then joined the staff at Sturgeon Valley in 2010. This will be his tenth year in the golf industry and his sixth as a C.P.G.A. Professional. His teaching philosophy falls under the "keep it as simple as possible, the games hard enough already isnt it?"
Jordan Rodda - Proshop Starter
Jordan grew up in St.Albert and graduated from Paul Kane High School in 2006. His interest in golf began when he started playing at age 16. He recently finished the first year of his Professional Golf Management Major at Grant MacEwan University. He is really enjoying learning more about the game of golf through the program.
Thus far, the highlight of his life has been backpacking through Europe, where he ran with the bulls. Jordan has been working at the Sturgeon Valley Golf Club since 2010.
Leeza Kasianiuk - Proshop Starter
Leeza was born in St. Albert and has lived there for the past 22 years. She is currently studying at the U of A enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program with a specialization in Dental Hygiene, which she will complete in 2013. After completing her degree she plans on working in a private practice and one day teach at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Dental Hygiene. Leeza has worked at the Sturgeon Valley Golf Club since 2010.
